Survey Reinforces the Growing Need for Home Care and the Incredible Opportunity for Senior Living Providers
An overwhelming majority of seniors say they want to age in their homes but, according to a new survey, many expect to eventually move to a senior living community.
That’s why, at the HomeCare Advocacy Network (HCAN), we believe senior living providers are missing an incredible opportunity if they aren’t providing in-home services to current and future residents.
“We know the vast majority of family decision-makers will look at home care first – before considering a move to a senior living community. Especially now, families want to keep their aging loved ones at home for as long as possible,” said Mark Goetz, co-founder, and president of HCAN. “Because they are already a trusted provider of senior care, many families will turn to senior living providers first – to find out if they also provide home care services. Unfortunately, the answer is often ‘no’ – and they refer the family to a home care agency. Here at HCAN, we think there’s a great opportunity for senior living to invest in their own home care brand and start saying ‘yes’ to those inquiries – to stop partnering with and start competing with home care agencies.”
With 10,000 people turning 65 every day, Goetz said the home care market is set to explode.
“In our line of sight, senior living is poised to become the largest provider of in-home services over the next 10 – 15 years,” he said. “If a senior living provider also has a home care business, it will have an incredible number of strong leads. They’re already providing services and building a close relationships with families. That will help ease an eventual transition into the community,”
So, why should senior living providers partner with HCAN?
“Delivering care to a resident down the hall is a lot different that delivering care to a senior who lives 15 miles away,” Goetz said. “When providers partner with HCAN, we’ll help them build a service line that’s complementary to, but separate from, their current operation. They won’t have to start from scratch when developing the necessary systems and processes – they simply plug into our proven system. Our experienced team is also there every step of the way – providing the expertise and support needed to be successful.”
With the HCAN franchise model, providers can control their own destiny and strengthen their long-term viability. To learn more, give us a call at (402) 359-1996 or shoot us an email at partner@hcanthrive.com.
